Characteristics
Adhesive Scrim Tape is a high-strength, self-adhesive mesh tape designed for reinforcing plasterboard joints as part of a complete taping and jointing system. The high-tack adhesive backing means it will hold firm to the surface even in cold temperatures (as low as 5 degrees). This allows you to scrim up before filling (even over large areas) without fear of it detaching.
The open-weave mesh construction allows filler to penetrate through the tape and bond directly to the substrate beneath, creating a strong base that reinforces the joint and helps prevent cracking over time.
Apply directly over butted and tapered plasterboard joints before overcoating with Toupret Joint Filler or Finish Filler. It can also be used to reinforce damaged or weakened areas of plasterboard before filling and finishing.
Available in a 90m x 48mm roll, it's well suited to larger drylining jobs. It’s white in colour, so it’s easy to cover.
